Selected Work

SMART - "Design Installations" experiential & ambient campaign

Taking the "Car as Art" concept further, into the realms of design installation. Maximizing on the smart design ethos of what needs to be taken away to enhance existing design sensibilities, rather than radically redefine them - if we don't need a clutch... then don't incorporate one into the design.

Taking this notion into the campaign, where the ATL, DM & Digital have worked so well the "smart Design Installations" is the glue between them, inhabiting the the bit in between. Expanding on the ALT message of - Safety, Economy & Space in a way that only an Experiential / Ambient execution can. Inspiring the viewer to visit truthaboutsmart.com & SMS the short code, creating real talk value around smart , stunningly arresting, visually compelling.

By converting existing media spaces & developing alternate spaces that have huge automotive resonance to house the smart: "Design Installations". For example the cromwell road or hyde park corner in london where millions of cars pass through, or indeed run bumper to bumper. Culminating with a final event on London's south bank at the Design Museum & London Fashion week outside the Natural & Science Museums later in the year.

LONDON 2012 OLYMPIAD - "iamolympic.co.uk" on-line & viral campaign

I was brought in as a lead creative to work on this strategic pitch for the London 2012 Olympiad. The brief was to develop a strategic plan for the four year We had an open brief with a green light on all areas of creativity ~ including nu-rave £$&*!

The main concept behind "iamolympic.co.uk" is to enable children all over the world as well as the UK, to take part in the 2012 olympiad. Kids via schools and activity centres across the UK are inviting kids to make a pledge such as: "by 2012 i'll play in a band at my school dance", or "i'll make that superman seat grab on my bmx". Then give them the assistance to then achieve the goals they have set themselves with professional mentors in they're chosen fields and a community base where they can help each other!

This went on to win the the digital pitch for VCCP as part of they're larger overall £4m account!

JORDANS CEREALS - "Getting Closer to Food" on-line & viral campaign

At the moment, people feel disconnected from their food. We want them to see Jordans as the conduit for them to feel closer to food. But this has to be credible, and we can use digital to demonstrate it interactively and begin a dialogue as supposed to broadcast’s job of simply telling people about it.

A portal website running along side the "getting closer to food" press & TV campaign - further enhancing the Jordans re-brand message. Transparency & community the key ingredients here, with a laid back tone of voice & a free breakfast ~ what more could you want :)

3SKYPEPHONE - "Now Mobile" through the line UK launch campaign

From pitch to final delivery we were the senior team for the national campaign integrating, and successfully making happy, three clients within one campaign;
3, Skype, and Hutchinson Whampoa. We did it all together at Albion with an open democratic creative process that just works. We brought our digital, ambient, motion graphic & experiential strengths to the table and stretched out the response to the brief beyond the above the line into a full blown 360 campaign with nearly 700 outdoor billboard sites across the UK featuring the ads, along with newspaper wraps in the "London Lite", "City AM" & "Metro". We also created loads of tasty work for D-EP and LCD screens for the London Underground network, as well as animated creative for giant outdoor screens across the UK. With more ambient and experiential elements in the pipeline we look forward to showing as they roll out across the country...

The clients were so happy with the work - they increased their spend by 2 million £ !

BLACKBERRY - "Curve 8310 Smartphone GPS" european launch campaign

We created a treatment that worked across various online formats as well as for the HD and SD screens on the digital escalator panel network in the UK. SPECIALTEN - "Juergen Teller" ~ venice biennale film

We teamed up with Specialten to put together some cracking films for their new format hardback DVD publication, one of which was to work with Juergen Teller. We had footage from Juergens show at the Venice Biennale and from an interview filmed in his London home. We literally had hours and hours of diverse material to thread together to create a fluid and engaging interview and document of Juergen Teller. This film is raw and has a great flow through its 20 minutes and has been very well received... by all accounts everyone involved with it is very happy with the final cut - with Juergen giving friends & family a private screening!

LEXUS - "GS 450 Hybrid" on-line viral campaign

Slipmode and Steve Hoskins were commissioned to shoot a live action and motion graphic film for the new Lexus GS450 Hybrid. The studio shoot took two days to film
- a close up pupil dilation, shots of the car, and the Hybrid Synergy Drive performing speeds in excess of 160 mph. We also recorded additional assets, both filmed and static, to aid us in the compositing process. We used our film making and compositing experience alongside Steve's HD cinematography to create this highly detailed and sharp looking film, the aim of which was to show the synergy between the organic beauty and the mechanical prowess of this powerful hybrid. Once the compositing and edit was assembled, we produced and executed the final sound design

APART GALLERY - "Five Years Apart" art direction, design & production

The celebrated Apart gallery on Portobello road, which has since relocated, commissioned us to design and art direct a book celebrating five years of the gallery. The book had to reflect the casual individuality of the gallery’s ethos which is primarily to show young exciting talent in a non traditional gallery vibe. We devised two versions of this 182 page book; a limited edition, and a uniquely packaged collectors edition, both stamped and signed by Adrian the Gallery owner. The collectors edition integrated treats and freebies related to sponsors of shows held at the gallery; including a mini bottle of sailor jerry’s rum, a 10 track music cd, K-Swiss scratch cards, stickers, badges, a loyalty Apart credit card, a bag of pretzels, and a flyer designed to look like a cigarette from Cellux Tokyo. This was then vacuum-sealed and finally packaged in a clear plastic container. K-Swiss trainers commissioned us to design the scratch cards within, an example of integrating multiple clients/sponsors in a project. The book has been stocked in a variety of shops, such as the ICA and Magma, as well as at the gallery and outlets abroad. Punk book design for a gallery concept which is reordering the way art is seen and sold

NY-LON - "Branding" design concept & production

Working closely with the creative director of this London and New York based design consultancy, we were commissioned to design and implement their graphic identity. Our involvement covered the design of all stationary and the creation of their lookbook. The lookbook was designed as a selection of post card sized cards which could then be edited per lookbook box per the needs of each prospective client. We enjoyed full access to their studio and designs, and both photographed and utilised existing content to create stunning and informative collages. Luxurious detail for some product lines, and straight forward simplicity for other product lines... a sense of bespoke personal detail was attached to the concept and has proved to be very successful

Ever since Kate created a giant silk screen print of Chris as ' el Presidente ', we knew we had a friend and a client to share our sensibilities with! Kate needed a website to express her diverse range of prints, fabrics, and photos which are uniquely beautiful and sometimes hilariously clever. We documented her studio and work, and then set about designing a simple point and click website she could update on her own in Oz. We were approached as a creative team to conceptualise and execute a campaign aimed at creative to build an awareness and a kudos around White Door. We worked alongside John Stuart on a photographic approach which would become part of meeting room redesigns and targeted communications. A real white door became a character that in a surreal way represented the company. We penned anagrams of ‘white door’ and created scenarios which were then photographed on location. We then organised and art directed the location shoots, followed by designing the printed materials . Unfortunately the conceptualizations for the meeting room décor was not fully realized due to the relocation of Whitedoor

LOST & FOUND IN L.A. - "A Personal Cinematic Journey"

This is a personal journey, an echo of Giles' time living and working in Los Angeles, his journeys and memories of a city in motion. An early edit of the film was unearthed, we watched it, really liked the feel of it, and knew we had to finish it off. Giles really knuckled down went through all of the footage and set about re-cutting, re-grading, and finally mixing a new music score for it. It's a journey, a ride, feel the light
